10 Top Tourist Attractions in Lisbon – Travel Video

The capital of sunny Portugal, Lisbon is situated at the point where the Tagus River estuary meets the Atlantic Ocean. As a travel destination, the riverfront city is as rich and varied as the country’s long history. From the ruins of a Moorish castle perched atop one of the city’s seven hills to a sidewalk café snuggled against an ancient Visigoth wall, remnants of Lisbon’s colorful past are everywhere. While Western Europe’s oldest city has taken steps to overhaul its transportation system, modernize its downtown area and revamp its waterfront, it’s the charm of Lisbon’s oldest neighborhoods that most attract visitors.

Seeing that Lisbon is not in Spain, and Portuguese is not a dialect of Castilian (the official language of Spain), a little correction on the pronunciation of the names "Jorge" and "Jose" (and every other word or name in Portuguese starting with the letter "J") is in order. Jorge is pronounced similarly to George (which is indeed the same name, with a different spelling), and Jose (Joseph) is pronounced "Joo-Zeh. I hope this can go some way into the debunking of the "myth" that Portugal is in "Spain" (the name some people still use in reference to the entirety of the Iberian Peninsula). Otherwise, good enough video. Greetings.
